Experience a day trip to the UNESCO World Heritage port city of Essaouira. Gaze in awe at the mile-long beach, one of the best in Morocco. Stroll through the historic Medina and shop for colorful souvenirs at Souk Jdid.

Take a private day trip to Essaouira, one of Morocco’s most attractive coastal towns. Admire its undeniable charm, with its whitewashed houses with blue shutters, art galleries, wood workshops, fishermen and colorful boats, all surrounded by ancient red walls.

Your private tour begins with a pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Leave Marrakech through lush valleys filled with orange groves, century-old olive trees and working farms. Stop in Chichaoua for a coffee or a snack at Café Afoulki.

Continue past your first argan trees. These special trees are valued for their nutritional, cosmetic and medicinal properties. A relic species of the Tertiary era, it is extremely well adapted to the drought and other difficult environmental conditions of southwestern Morocco and, although it is now threatened, under the protection of UNESCO.

Arrive in Essaouira and stroll through the ancient streets, where it is easy to imagine life in front of you. The streets have a Portuguese feel after renaming the city in the 16th century and using it as a port city in its own right. Enjoy fish straight from the sea at many local restaurants and ride a camel to the beach. After some free time to explore on your own, return to Marrakech for drop-off at your hotel or riad.
